Milestones | Gannett Blog surpasses 6M pageviews
That total was passed moments ago, according to Site Meter, one of the web analytics firms I use to follow readership trends. Those six million pages were viewed over the 37 months since I made Gannett Blog public on Sept. 11, 2007. Thank you for standing by me, in good times and bad!

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

Congrats, Jim. Thanks for your work here.
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Jim. Thanks for providing us with the insight that we didn't have 37 months ago. I still have to wonder whether the company does anything differently because of Gannettblog.
ReplyDeleteI have my own opinion...
Jim,
ReplyDeleteCongrats and thanks for sticking with it, even through those slow times that may seem like covering a mosquito abatement district board meeting that crawls past midnight.
LOL, 7:44 p.m.
ReplyDeleteWish more former journalists from Gannett/USAT would start blogs like this. I bet there are lots of insights and perspectives that ex-Gannettoids could provide, which I think might eventually cut down on the abuses and missteps this company seems to have gotten away with for many years.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, I just wanted to say good job, Jim.
Lots of Gannettoids don't know this blog exists. Tell your friends. Tell them to just Google or whatever "Gannett blog" and it will be the first hit. Congratulations, Jim.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hanging in there. I don't always agree with your tactics, but you provide a valuable service for Gannettoids.
ReplyDeleteThrough all the trolls and abusive posters, there are nuggets of good information here that can't be found anywhere else -- especially not from management. Thanks for restarting the blog. I hope it keeps going. Donation on the way.
ReplyDeleteHow many Unique visitors?
ReplyDeleteMore than 10,000 during the past 30 days -- a figure that has stayed constant for more than two years (except during the five months I was on hiatus during 2009).
ReplyDeleteFor context, Gannett has fewer than 35,000 employees, and an unknown number of alumni.
But your counter at the bottom right says 2.4M.
ReplyDeleteAre you counting 6M from before you installed the counter?
Just curious about the math there.
That counts visits, not pageviews.
