  1. I can tell you this. Digital is lost without Saridakis. Say what you want, but for the past four months without him this division has been driving blindly down the road.

At first, I wasn't a big fan, but now I realize the impact he had on this group and this company. They should have retained him.

  2. I believe that Gannett is not exactly on the top of anyone's list of potential employers beyond recent college grads unfamiliar with the commpany.

Gannett is not a name many want on their resume.

  3. When was the last time GCI appeared on any list for best area employer?

  4. 9:04p. Definitely agree with you. Saridakis was a big loss for Gannett. He was clearly the successor to Dubow and actually would have done a great job. I think he was the most liked (and shortest lived) executive at the company.

The board and the Investors should be outraged that these great leaders we have are not even capable of finding a CFO or a CDO!

  5. Glassdoor.com has Dubow's approval rating at 28%,that says it all. Why is this guy still our CEO????

  6. Dubow's still there so he can qualify for a few more bucks in his pension plan, and fine tune his exit goodies.

He's certainly not there to lead the company. Unless, of course, the grand scheme is ruination.

  7. I wonder if McCorkindale - we remember him, right? - picked Dubow to make himself look good by comparison.

'Ol Corky. He's probably out there right now in McClean clipping his coupons and praising the heavens that he had the good sense to unload his Gannett stock.

He was the first bean counter to lead the company, and the first without a newspaper background. His appointment was the beginning of the end.

  8. When was the last time Gannett made the 'best place for women to work list'?

  9. Was there a first time Gannett made any "best place to work" list?

Just asking. Maybe I missed it.

  10. @4:23 PM,

When was the last time Gannett made a "best place to work" list for anyone besides the top tier of management?

  11. The best place for working mothers thing was all HR window-dressing. Form over substance.

  12. I believe GCI made some magazine list over 10 years ago for best place to work for working mothers. At that time I thought it was a farce, and up to now, I've never seen GCI on any other "list."

Am amused at all the trashing Dubow gets; Martore, who's barely mentioned, is no better.

  13. The best place for working mothers thing was so that Gracia can justify to her husband and children why she doesn't see them anymore and instead pretends to work.

  14. Ah, Gracia, of course. We wouldn't want to neglect Gracia. Just one more bean counter without an ounce of creativity.

    Just what the company needs!

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
