Earnings | Digital now 19% of operating revenue

That's based on all digital revenue, including the newspaper division, and was up from 17.1% in the first quarter. But it came on a nearly 2% decline in overall operating revenue, the company disclosed in its just-released second-quarter earnings report.

"Company-wide digital revenues, which include the Digital Segment and all digital revenues generated by the other business segments, were $252.2 million," the report says. Overall operating revenue was $1.37 billion.

Revenue from the Digital Segment alone improved significantly in the second quarter. It rose 8.3%, to $154.1 million, from a year ago vs. a 1.8% decline, to $140.6 million, in the first quarter from the year before, according to that quarter's report.

The Digital Segment comprises CareerBuilder, PointRoll, ShopLocal, Planet Discover, Schedule Star and Ripple6.

  1. Careerbuilder is a losing share and has more uncollected receivables due to some sketchy accounting. Matt F is a good guy, but it seems like they are continuing to decline in a growing market market.

Sites like Dice are killing them.

  2. Dubow gave CEO Matt Ferguson a big pat on the back during the earnings conference call today. Corporate's counting on CareerBuilder more than ever.
