Corporate said barnstorming to Indy on Friday

A reader writes in an e-mail: "Just an FYI that Craig Dubow, Gracia Martore and Bob Dickey will be in Indianapolis tomorrow for a company-wide meeting from 11 a.m.-12, which we are required to attend. No one seems to know anything about anything about what they are doing here."

From there, the CEO (above), the president, and the head of the U.S. newspaper division, respectively, would then jet down to Nashville, where they're scheduled to meet staff at 3 p.m., based on the last note forwarded to me.

Earlier: What these three executives got paid last year. Plus: In a tipperary tale, it's a long way to Pensacola . . .

Can anyone else confirm this Indy fly-in? Please post your replies in the comments section, below. To e-mail confidentially, write jimhopkins[at]gmail[dot-com]; see Tipsters Anonymous Policy in the rail, upper right.

  1. Yep the suits are here. We have been cleaning and painting the building the last couple of weeks and were told the other day to make sure our work spaces were presentable. What is sad or ironic is this visit coincides with the big layoff of 09 to the day.

  5. Agreed, 2:55 pm. (Although I thought 12:52's question was serious.)

  6. They came and they did NOT conquer. This was the biggest joke of a meeting. Everything was scripted and it seemed like they wanted to a floor plan before they visited so Dubow and crew can make a quiet exit without actually having to run into anyone int eh hallways.

This was a request from Robin Pence!!! Can you believe that the CEO and President(s) are trying to avoid talking to people outside of a scripted, walking tour of the facility.

No one feels any better that he and she were here.

Bob Dickey was his usually canned self. Nothing to say other than we need to "stay the course" and expect more cost cutting initiatives.

They should find a replacement for the CEO and if it is Martore, then she will not cut it.
