In my home state of Rhode Island,
Memorial Day traditionally marks the start of beach-going season. Families head for the shore, opening beach houses for another summer away from scorching city temperatures. These days, I know something else that starts this three-day weekend: Internet traffic begins falling, and remains low during much of the summer, as more people vacation and stay away from the Web.

Hey, oddly enough, I live and report in Rhode Island. The Internet is much too small of a place at times. (Also: It was ridiculously nice here today. It makes up for the 96 degree heat on Wednesday.)
ReplyDelete96 in Rhode Island?! This early in the year?
ReplyDeleteYeah Jim - It set a record for the entire month of May, according to the Projo:

Thankfully, the Sun (oh sweet irony!) had their air conditioning working, so I did not die of heatstroke.
