GCI broadcast in new content-sharing venture
Gannett's 23-station TV division joined 11 other broadcast companies today in announcing a new joint venture to develop a national content service for mobile devices. The service under the venture, called Pearl Mobile DTV Co., will allow the business partners to "provide content to mobile devices, including live and on-demand video, local and national news from print and electronic sources, as well as sports and entertainment programming,'' according to a joint press release.
