Cherry Hill | Tipster says Corporate bigwigs coming

That's according to Anonymous@7:11 p.m., who says in a comment today that the "higher-ups" are due at New Jersey's Courier-Post on Thursday. "To prepare, they are dismantling empty cubicles in advertising and redoing the lobby. Rumors say there is going to be big changes in the areas served by information center and advertising after the New Year."

Can anyone confirm, or add details? Post replies in the comments section, below. To e-mail confidentially, write jimhopkins[at]gmail[dot-com]; see Tipsters Anonymous Policy in the green rail, upper right.

  2. The following is part of a comment written by Anonymous@9:44 p.m.; I've edited out the rest of the comment because it includes disparaging remarks about current and former Courier-Post employees:

Regarding Cherry Hill's facilities and what's going on there...The place is such a dump because very little money has been put into the facility in decades. And, when money was put in, it was usually in rush to make the place look a little better ONLY because brass was coming in for a site visit. NOT because they give a damn about working conditions for the employees, believe me! The lobby has a mid 1950's look and hasn't been fixed up since the place was built in the 1050's. Again, a dump and left that way because of complete contempt for the employees and the community in general.

  3. I have to be honest: when the bigwigs come to town, no matter where you work, everyone shines the place up. When I was at WXIA, whenever Roger Ogden or Dave Lougee was coming, we were asked to tidy up our work areas. In retail, we always had to clean extra-good the night before a District or Regional Manager visit.

Although the way things have been going in Gannettland these days, it's more like going to confession and doing good deeds in the hope you won't be sent to hell.
