7:13 a.m., Ibiza time, Wednesday, June 3: Seeking guidance for my new spiritual journey, I stopped in Ibiza's magical Peace Park during my morning walk at dawn. The great spirit suggested a solution to a dilemma, by asking me the central question: How do you define pace?Here's my favorite answer, reflecting my Italian heritage; it's by The Peace Company of Bristol, Vt.: "Pace (pronounced PAH-chay) means peace in Italian. This universal symbol of peace, solidarity, sister & brotherhood was hung from millions of homes and workplaces all over Italy (and beyond) prior to the war against Iraq. This flag has become quite popular all over the European Union and U.S."

ReplyDeleteBy knowing if I have a job from quarter to quarter and if I can afford all the bills that come in. If I can pay them all each month and take care of my kids – that is peace — and I work a second job to make ends meet, but some months they don't. You can't say I'm not trying.
