Now | Dubow told to 'take his time getting better'

I'm told that Chief Financial Officer Gracia Martore has just sent this note to employees, concerning Chairman and CEO Craig Dubow's medical leave of absence.

Dear colleague:

I wanted to let you know that I have spoken with Craig Dubow and he is doing fine following his back surgery. I am pleased to report that he left the hospital last Friday and continues his recuperation at home in Virginia.

Many of you have asked how he is doing and expressed your well wishes. These have been passed along to Craig and he wants you to know how very much he appreciates your concern and kind thoughts.

While his doctors have told him to take his time getting better, I know he is anxious to get back into the swing of things. We wish him a speedy recovery.

I will keep you updated as Craig’s recuperation continues.

Sincerely,

Gracia

  1. Yeah, because we're all so very concerned about Craigy.

An e-mail regarding the upcoming layoffs would have shown a greater connect with us in the trenches wondering how we're going to weather unemployment in these troubled times.

    Fucking clueless.

  2. Gracia is taking up a collection for a get well gift for Craig. It's either a new BMW or 41,000 "I'm just as clueless as the guy I'm 'temporarily replacing' T shirts.

10% discount for those facing paycuts!!!!

  3. Did one of Craig's off week's count as unpaid furlough?

  4. I'm waiting for one of these "A message from Craig Dubow" to be like a SNL skit that begins with "And now a message from the President of the United States."

That would be more in touch than this shit.

At least Garcia showed a little sarcasm when she talked about all the get well wishes.

  5. I think this was really meant as a back-channel communication with Wall Srreet. Corporate couldn't find a way to issue a statement.

Or it's wishful thinking on behalf of D.D. I'm told she hates Great Falls, and longs for a return to Atlanta -- or once did. The other corporate wives have not always played nicey-nicey. Virginia isn't exactly Hot-lanta.

  6. This really is obscene, given the backdrop. Will the Communications Department next Twitter his first unassisted dump?

And how many company-paid nurses are at the house to assist in his withdraw -- oops!

  7. Who really cares? Come on, really. I have deranged discs in my back for years and when they slip, I'm in severe pain and practically can't move without physical therapy or/and pain pills. And I go back to work within two days. Deal with it Craig, you'll live and live well!

  8. So now that's two e-mails updating the status of someone that no one cares about. And zero e-mails about the major layoffs affecting thousands of people.

  9. I could really care less. Who cares how he is doing? Better yet - maybe he can "work from home". Naaahh, better not: we've seen the results while he was in the office. LOL!

  10. What a spin doctor, I'll bet there were a few emails, most of which suggested long hospital stays and a possible a long period in a hot burning place.

  11. WTF!! Do we really give a fuck whjat happens to Craig? For all I fucking care, he could be in a wheel chair for the rest of his fucking life judging from the amount of hard working people losing their jobs! Craig boy, karma is a bitch and this is the first sign of it.

  12. Attention Wall Street, this is a perfect example of a company with individuals only concerned with one level below and as high up as they can impress and it doesn't matter who they offend outside that group!

  13. Hope that new spine will hold!

So much for being "civil," Jim.

I ain't no fan of Dubow either, but come on.
