Note | Please visit Gannett Blog's successor site
I will point my traffic to Gannettoid.com starting July 10, when Gannett Blog shuts down permanently. It will be the chief source of news about layoffs, and comments.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

We will miss you Jim. I applaud Gannettoid for stepping up to the plate.
ReplyDeleteI have found very few posts per day on the site. Lots of people looking but one one or two posting. Hopefully
that will change in the future.
The Gannettoid-er is going to have to do a lot more work to be half as good or useful as this blog has been.
ReplyDeleteAgreed w/ 9:00PM. Also, the format needs to be streamlined on gannettoid. There are too many forum threads about the same topic. Frustrating. But I also applaud his/her stepping up to the plate. But Jim, I am gonna miss you.
ReplyDeleteWe are all going to miss Jim. Here's a hug and a home cooked meal – oops, sorry, can't send it to Spain!
ReplyDeleteGet you butt in bed and rest up. You're going to need it over the next two weeks.
Thanks again Jim.
Your the best kid.
Gannettoid needs to get mobile friendly to get the same kind of traffic. I check this blog constantly on hand-held; doesn't work for the new one.
ReplyDeleteIt also needs an RSS feed.
ReplyDeleteThe Jim sycophants are active in this thread.
ReplyDeleteI see more of them every day at work at Gannett, especially the middle managers — so far up, it's hard for them to see.
