For the record, TMZ had the story an hour and a half before the L.A. Times.
ReplyDeleteThe world is weeping.
ReplyDeleteSo now we elevate a child molesting freak to a God? Why? A good distraction from Bernanke's lies and other country killing news I must say. Not that it isn't a news story but so is Fawcett's. He wasn't even in the forefront lately except for his misdeeds.
ReplyDeleteWith that said, out local paper pushed extra copies out to the streets today but did USA? Nope. They'll go like a Pit-puppy after a store to sell 2-3 USA's a day but maybe have a chance to sell a good percent....not a whisper. I don't get it.
The world is weeping.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, the blog reeks with misinformation.
ReplyDeleteUSA TODAY printed as many as 300,000 extra copies today and we're expecting a strong weekend sale. What's happening at individual boxes may vary.
Just another word: Jim Hopkins, who never wrote anything at USA TODAY that anyone remembers, is now playing junior media critic with the same ineffective hatchet he has used for months here to bash his former employer.
Suddenly, someday, hopefully soon, he'll waleup in this midlife crisis camp for the lost and fleeing and realize oh my god what have I done?
But to piss-out at the hard-working folks at USA TODAY who worked double shifts last night - something he was never known for as he milked the 'bureau" system on his stint here -- is pretty pathetic.
The paper is flying off the stands here in the USA, and online hits are epic. The only thing epic about Hopkins on this us his fail.
9:17 a.m.: I believe you missed this, at the top of the post: "I'll return soon with a review of coverage. Briefly: In a comparison, USA Today's excelled; mine sucked."
ReplyDeleteHowever, I would be interested in new Publisher Dave Hunke's thoughts.
ReplyDeleteFrom 9:17 "USA TODAY printed as many as 300,000 extra copies today"
ReplyDeleteThat may be but at my paper, single copy didn't get a single extra copy. if our plant printed extras, I'd like to know where they went.
