$$$ | Did Period 6 end on Friday?
In other words, is Gannett now done with its fiscal second quarter? That's a milestone I need to record.

gannett 5-4-4 (weeks) calendar runs Monday to Sunday. So today Sunday is the last day of Period 6. You say June, Gannett says Period 6.
ReplyDeleteYep. Monday starts Period 7.
ReplyDeleteYou were a money reporter with the company for 20 years and you don't know????
ReplyDeleteSheesh!
Thank you. That's a very important piece of the puzzle. I can hear those much-anticipated words now:
ReplyDelete10 a.m. ET, July 15. AT&T conference call operator: "Welcome to the Gannett Co.'s second-quarter earnings conference call. With us on the call today are Gracia Martore . . . "
Sheesh, yourself, 7:59:
ReplyDeleteFor 20 years, I was a business journalist for Gannett newspapers in Little Rock, Boise, Louisville and San Francisco. I was only a money reporter at USA Today for eight years.
And when's the last time a Gannett paper took a hard look at Gannett Co.? Links, puh-leeze!
Period 6 was a disaster.
ReplyDeleteDid Gannett miss plan, or was it simply as bad as expected? From a year ago, down 25%? 50%? I'm dying for numbers, here!
