[Lots o' blogs! A rare glimpse of my Blogger dashboard]
Dear readers:Inexplicably, the entire thread from Wednesday's Real Time Comments forum disappeared from that post last night. I did not remove them -- on purpose, anyway.
We experienced a similar problem around the time of the annual shareholder's meeting in April. Google later acknowledged a glitch, I believe. I do not know whether that was an issue last night. In any case, I've developed a messy workaround involving Gmail to recover most of them; I'll keep looking for more.

I've reposted the ones I've found so far. They're in a very different format, which is why the restored string looks unfamiliar. I was forced to publish them in batches to get around a 4,096-character limit imposed by Google's Blogger platform.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
