The site's publisher and I have negotiated an early succession plan, effective after the anticipated big layoff in early July. In a note, he says: "Gannettoid.com was started as a site to complement the Gannett Blog shortly after the December layoffs. It was not intended to be a place for communication, but to add helpful resources and be a portal to sites and stories of interest for Gannettoids. Now, a forum has been added to maintain the positives the blog started by opening up a community for colleagues across the country."

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

Jim,
ReplyDeleteWhat is your feeling on the operator of Gannettiod? Can he/she is trusted?
Ok, trusted as much as /we have trusted you?
Are there more layoffs coming for Gannett workers at The Des Moines register in Iowa?
