What I'm doing right now

9:47 p.m., San Francisco time: Deleting hundreds of comments posted on my blog over the past week by dangerous goons while Corporate stood by, silently. Indeed, I'm beginning to think this really was the work of The 11th Floor. I'll know more tomorrow.

  1. No jim you need to be hitting the delete button on this blog!! I loved you before you looked like idiot during the meeting! Public speaking class is in order. Best regards and i mean that with all the respect before I saw that video

  5. Jim, I gotta say - I agree that the homophobic/nasty comments should go.

But valid criticism got deleted too (including some of mine). Trust me, I didn't post any crap.

Between your gadfly appearance at the stockholder meeting and the jumbled facts posted lately, I'm afraid this place has jumped the shark. I'm outta here.

  6. Censorship is a wonderful thing when you really want to control the masses. You have become what you fight.

[Yes, I know I'm yelling. The trolls hijacked this blog and I strongly disapprove.]

  12. Regarding the "you made this blog all about you, Jim" comments. (An aside, do you notice how the trolls style includes using his name frequently in posts, focusing their comments directly to Jim but really hoping they are affecting the attitudes and opinions of Gannett blog readers?) It isn't Jim seeking the spotlight. It is the trolls trying with every fiber of their being to discredit Jim that has changed the tone of the blog in recent days.
It is time for it to stop. Now.

I've posted notes like this in the past few days. That doesn't make me a troll - just someone who's disappointed over where this blog is headed.

I see that today's posts are mostly Jim-centric too. I think that seals the deal for me - I will not be back, at least not for some time.

  14. Why would corporate care who posts what on your blog?

It's not their job to monitor your blog for folks posting crap on your blog.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
