ReplyDeleteWhat do you want to hear from the courierpost "slaves?" What about our wonderfull EE? No much to say. What about our advertising sales department loaded with useless "management" who are kept around to support the Adv director who doesn't want anyone there who is smarter than she. Biggest project of the day is placing the lunch order or preparing for a party or happy hour at one of the local bars.
ReplyDeleteanother courier slave checking in.
ReplyDeletethe production dept managers are
just as clueless.
we're a sinking ship.
needless to say im looking
for a new job.

ReplyDeleteHey Jim,
ReplyDeleteSorry some of us in NJ are so poorly behaved you have to keep removing posts. I appreciate being able to hear what is going on at the CP. I try to be as positive as possible & if the job ends, I'll have to look for something else. Being foul, doesn't seem to help and is actually even more depressing.
chuck nutt!
ReplyDeleteWalt Lafferty to the rescue? Yeah, there you have the main problem. He keeps drones around at the courier post either because they are all incompetent yes men/women, or because they are dumber than him by design. Both probably apply very well. This guy does not know how to give a straight answer. Of course that means he is performing perfectly per the Gannett publisher manual of performance and job description. Just about everyone I know who works there is looking elsewhere for an escape route...but that's what Gannett wants.
ReplyDeleteThe Courier Post production big shots cannot even put a newspaper together. More days than not the "B" section comes after the "C" section or another section but not after "A." A complete moron should be able to assemble this, but then again look who is the production big shot...publisher lafferty's water boy friend who came with him from Morristown. The one thing this production guy did right last year was when he was outside trimming the shrubs. Yeah, that really did happen. At that point he almost found something he was good at doing.

ReplyDeletewhy do reporters bitch so much?
ReplyDeleteOn Monday there's reams of copy about baseball, yet the C-N/HNT never mention that an Opening Day game had already been postponed.
