A business reporter based in Washington, D.C., for a major newspaper is looking to talk to DC-area Gannett employees about the furlough's impact on finances and life in general, for a story on the recession's impact on wages. "I'd like to know what financial goals had to be adjusted, if any -- how people are coping,'' the reporter says. "I am willing to speak to people anonymously, but I also need a couple folks who are willing to go on record and be photographed. My deadline as of now is tonight. Because of short notice, I'll be doing phone interviews. Any help is greatly appreciated."

Sounds like a great way to land a permanent furlough.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I got mightily burned by one very prominent political website, and I NEVER will talk to anyone again, anonymously or not. No one should give Gannett any ammo to help fire them.
ReplyDeleteActually, no one should give any employer any reason to doubt them. That is why I never post of facebook walls.
ReplyDeleteOh please... these furloughed folks should feel blessed they still have jobs and quit griping about how to get unemployment for one week.
ReplyDeleteHow would you like to still be unemployed since last summer, searching for a decent job and income, contributing 100% for COBRA (no stimulus break), trying to make ends meet, etc.?
