Yikes! I'm down to my final fundraising hours

With fewer than six hours left, I've raised just $4,481 -- barely 75% of my quarterly goal. Advertising sales are only 15% of that total, down from 24% in the previous quarter, when I pulled in more than $5,200. Your donations count more than ever! The breakdown so far:
  • Advertising sales: $626
  • Sponsorships: $3,855
Thank you, so much, for your support!

I'm trying to earn $6,000 quarterly, mostly through sponsorships of $5 per reader, plus limited ad sales. Please use the "Donate" tool in the green rail, upper right. Or mail cash/checks payable to: Jim Hopkins, 584 Castro St. #823, San Francisco, Calif., 94114-2594.

  1. Was the fourth quarter the first you took donations? How much total did you get?

Are most donations $5? How many different people donated in the fourth? How many now so far?

If most are $5, then request $10 next quarter and make the goal. I'm sure you've thought of this, but I think you would be at your target that way. What you get now is impressive.

Also, can't you add non-adsense ads?

  4. Blogger is free, so at least your hosting overhead is low!
