  10. If the HNT is hiring salespeople, then when will Gannett get rid of the drones at the Courierpost and hire some real sales people (not all there are bad) to replace the incompetents? Start with the "management" types many of whom are beyond incompetent.

  14. Hey APP Senior VP of circulation. Are you going to slap the DM's in the face again by saying that "PCF are the professionals," implying that we're not. Even though many DM's have been around much longer than you!!

  15. Three hours later, and still no building news.

The hard-hitting reporters must be taking long lunches today.

12 PM and all my other little friends: Prognostication is not one of my talents, even though the word does sound filthy. Rather, I would just say that doom is the inevitable outcome to the horrendous product they are putting on the market. While I do not believe in out and out larceny, I think you would do well to abscound daily with several rolls of tape, some marking pens, perhaps a handful of rubber bands. Perhaps you can fit a tape dispenser in your underpants. In Somerville, the entire situation is putrid. True circulation figures are so low that they cannot be released truthfully.
Hortense has always tried to maintain a "pip-pip, cheerio" attitude and a positive attitude, but it just isn't possible to live in that dream world any longer.

As I sithere looking at the glum expressions on all of your faces, I just try to remember that there were "good old days" at one time!

  18. Take your paycheck and cash it.
Pray it clears. Be grateful you have a job for another week. Go home and kiss your spouse/kids/dog/whoever.
    Have a nice day. It's a job.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
