  1. Well, it looks like Jim Hopkins is using what he learned from moderating the posters here to start a new consulting business.

    http://www.thetotaltransformation.com/

    Good luck with that Jim.

(you know its just a joke)

  2. Still nothing new about the building problems.

The hard-hitting reporters must still be gathering information and talking to sources.

Then they will whip out a poorly written story. Maybe.

  14. 2:18,

I hope the Communities are picking up, but . . .

The added ads may be because of a "value added" if the advertiser takes one out in the main product.

Or that they are now getting more zones while only paying the rate they used to pay for one.

I really hope, even though I was laid off, that the newspapers find their way back to being "news" papers and they recover. It will mean a complete overhaul of the news gathering mindset, but a democracy needs impartial, objective newspapers.

Oh, BTW, headline I saw the other day on the front page of Community: "Wage gap shown among genders."

How many "genders" are there that it qualifies for "among" rather than "between"?

  18. Merged newsrooms - all copy-editing and layout work done in one location. All news bureaus for all GNJ papers shut. That's the plan.

  19. Hey, 1:40, maybe you don't think being first matters. That's the sort of thinking that hurts Gannett and civilized society. 19th!

  20. "Every one in here has got to many balls"

Except for Jim. He has no balls.

    ReplyDelete
  21. You don't really think you'll hear anything about the building problems, do you? Gannett will squash that the same way they squashed every investigation into hours violations by the state Dept. of Labor.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't think I'll hear anything because the hard-hitting reporters here don't have the smarts or the stomach to do the story.

Blame Big Brother Gannett if you like, but the true failing is with a group of people who have no skills and thought the chain owed them a career.

More from the "They're making it up" crowd. Ignorance is an easy way to avoid getting the details.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
