Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

ReplyDeleteI still work there, so I'm not particularly interested in seeing the company fail. But I understand why those who've moved on would feel "enjoyment" at this predicament.
ReplyDeleteKraig ist dumcoff
ReplyDeleteI would think we're past this point now. We're now trapped in the Alamo, and we all know what happened there.
ReplyDeleteIt hurt when I had to leave my Gannett paper, and it has hurt to see so many of my friends treated so poorly.
ReplyDeleteI don't want Gannett to fail, but I can't help feeling a little glee when I see that market cap dwindle. Makes me a little sick that I enjoy it.
What's wrong with me?
It feels good because it affirms what we all know: this company is poorly managed. The downward slide proves that overpaid executives and managers aren't creative enough to find a way out of the massive problems.
ReplyDeleteLet's end the madness. Someone, please put Gannett out of its misery.
