Friday night bites: It's time to bury the news
Companies often disclose bad news late on Fridays, when many newspaper and TV deadlines have already passed. So, what better time for Gannett to report 2008 executive pay than this afternoon, after stock markets close at 4 ET? (Plus, today is Friday the 13th!)

They are trying to hold the stock gains through the close, though that is starting to look unlikely. If the exec comp comes out too early, investors will get pissed about spending so much for such horrendous results.
