Program note: Gannett stock widget is back

Anonymous@2:48 p.m. asks: "Where is that handy GCI stock widget? It was so convenient to check, rather than logging on to Gannett.com." Answer: Following technical problems, I've just reinstalled it in the green sidebar, on your right. Plus, here's a tip: For any stock price, type its ticker symbol into Google, just like this.

Nobel laureate and Gannett Blog Chief Science Officer John Frink asks: Got tech advice to share? Please post your replies in the comments section, below. To e-mail confidentially, write gannettblog[at]gmail[dot-com].

  1. Have you looked into getting the stock price in real time quotes? These look delayed, which makes a difference toward the closing bell should someone want to adjust 401K balances.

  2. 3:22 pm: Yes, I have. But I haven't found a free one yet. Can you or anyone else recommend some?

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones.
