My Mac's back!

[Evan and my MacBook (lying flat), Genius Bar, 3:50 p.m., yesterday]

To my surprise and delight, the Apple store in downtown San Francisco told me yesterday afternoon that my MacBook was already available for pick-up. I had dropped it off for repair only Saturday, and was told it could take as long as six days. The warranty covered the repair costs: nearly $400 for a new case surrounding the keyboard.

  1. I realize that dealing with Gannett makes you want to bash your head against the keyboard, but maybe you should lay off that for a while. The warranty isn't going to last forever!

  2. San Fran + Genius Bar = pretty good chances that "Dude" came out of this guy's mouth at least three times during your conversation.

  3. It won't be the last time you bring in a Mac laptop for a repair. Just pray it doesn't catch on fire.

And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
