Monday Recap: We've had one million-plus visits!

Noteworthy posts you may have missed last week:

We watched video of a TV broadcast, showing publishers experimenting with electronic newspapers -- way back in 1981. Next, readers said the board of directors dismissed my shareholder's complaint, asking whether CEO Craig Dubow violated the company's ethics policy; at issue: $40,000 in still-unaccounted for Gannett Foundation money. Meanwhile, the company warned in the fourth-quarter earnings report of a surprise write-down as high as $5.9 billion. And Gannett Blog recorded its one-millionth visit, capping an unlikely man-bites-blog story.

  2. You were visit No. 999,999. (But we'll pretend it was one million.)

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
