Fort Myers: How markets come apart at the seams

"He loaded up a U-haul and was gone. I have known him for six years and he never said goodbye.''

-- Business consultant Reed Morgan describing a neighbor's abrupt departure, in a Wall Street Journal story today about a Florida court's 'rocket docket' blasting through foreclosure cases in the Fort Myers area. This is the latest example of the city getting cast as the real estate meltdown poster child.

  2. That's Florida. The place has always been a haven for scam artists and people looking for a fast buck. I wonder what the local paper was doing about it as the whole thing was happening.
