What I'm doing right now

8:30 p.m., San Francisco time: Posting a photo of my coveted Santa Claus Pez dispenser,cq received last year from my pals on USA Today's Money copy desk (hi, Dennis!), as a special Pezzie (sp?) award. It's one of my favorite awards.

  4. Since Jim used it in a his cutline on the Pez dispenser, what does "cq" actually stand for. I use it all the time in photo captions and I guess it means "correctly quoted" or something to that effect. I know what it means and how to use this particular shorthand. Just curious as to what the actual phrase is.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
