A spammer has returned, requiring me to stay up much too late this morning, deleting dozens of his comments, plus responses to his comments, etc. So, I'm back to reading comments in advance again. I'm sorry about the delay this will cause, and I hope it won't last long. But this is the downside of my allowing anonymous posts.

I'm reading comments before publication again
A spammer has returned, requiring me to stay up much too late this morning, deleting dozens of his comments, plus responses to his comments, etc. So, I'm back to reading comments in advance again. I'm sorry about the delay this will cause, and I hope it won't last long. But this is the downside of my allowing anonymous posts.

For what it's worth. Gannet are slashing jobs here in the UK as well !

Thanks for this web site, BTW. I worked for a Gannett paper 30+ years ago as an intern - and it didn't drive me from the news business (right away!). Also knew lots of Gannettoids when I was in the Guild.

ReplyDeleteHey Jim, random idea. With everyone that's been laid off in the last couple days, why don't you try soliciting a volunteer moderator? Everyone is just sitting around reading your blog this week anyway, and I'm sure you're about exhausted by now. Obviously you'd have to figure out a way to vet them...
