Buy an optional Gannett Blog subscription today for that someone special, and you'll get a bonus: I won't launch a really annoying 12 days of Christmas countdown of reasons to support this blog.
I'm trying to earn $6,000 quarterly, through voluntary subscriptions of $5 per reader; advertising contributes just a tiny share. Please use the "Donate" tool in the green sidebar, upper right. Or, send checks and cash to: Jim Hopkins, 584 Castro St. #823, San Francisco, Calif. 94114-2594.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

Bonus bonus points: I don't even put in for overtime!
ReplyDeleteHow much have you made in advertising?
ReplyDelete5:25 pm: About $1,200.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you can get a lawsuit on unpaid overtime if you don't put in for it, Jim.
ReplyDeleteFIGHT THE MAN! STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS!
:)
Cash is on the way. Nothing personal, but if I send a check to a good-looking fella in San Francisco, I'd have a helluva time explaining that to the wife....
Jim,
ReplyDeleteI would like a refund of the $20 I sent you. This blog sucks. It really has declined in value. No one is here anymore. Clearly all your supporters have been fired.
Give me my $20 back!!!
5:49, you might still be in the closet. Might be time to come out. ;)
ReplyDeleteSorry Jim I feel my money would be better served by donating to the homeless. I just can't find it in me to donate to someone that can afford summer vacations in Europe.
ReplyDelete9:53 AM - In defense of Jim on the Europe vacation. After working 20 years I too would take an extended vacation.
ReplyDeleteHey Jim, is gannettblog going to have a company Christmas party? My site isn't, again.
As I recall, Jim's vacation had been planned for quite some time - even before he left USAT. He'd made deposits on stuff, etc.
ReplyDeleteIf it was "use it or lose it," I'd use it no matter what my financial situation was!
