Disaster ahead? Gannett Blog TV goes on the road!

Our show's first-ever guest is David Tuller, a freelance journalist in San Francisco who specializes in public health reporting for The New York Times and other publications. He appears in the debut of my video-only feature, "One Question for . . . "

  1. Jim,
Thanks for the Gannett Blog TV. It's nice to see something positive and it brings a smile to my face, after reading some down right depressing posts. Keep up the good work!

  2. Thank you. That's exactly what I'm trying to do!

Now, is there anyone reading this thread who would like me to shout out a special message in a future video? I can't guarantee I'll be able to use many (or any!) suggestions, but it's worth trying.

  3. Nice to see a guest and a change of scenery. You might try moving your camera (in this case a laptop, right?) a little further away so you can both fit comfortably in the frame, the half-a-face thing is bit distracting. You can always edit out the beginning and the end of you running to stop and start the recording.

Ooo.. what's this shiny thing over here...

  4. one question with the guy on my lap! :)

Jim, I put some googly eyes on either side of my mac camera so that I could 'look the viewer in the eyes'.

Otherwise I was spending too much time looking at myself in the review window. And I am NOT that pretty.

Not that you have that problem.....

  5. Future video ideas? Here's one:

Find a Frank Gannett descendent and ask them if he'd be happy or sad right now.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
