Ken Tonning, chief executive at Gannett's TV stations in Jacksonville, Fla., replaces retiring Sam Rosenwasser as head of WTSP in Tampa, Fla., Gannett's broadcasting division said today. Dodie Cantrell-Bickley replaces Tonning; she has been GM at Gannett's WMAZ in Macon, Ga. Her replacement there will be announced later.
Separately, a reader says in an e-mail, WTSP has extended the same buyout offer to older workers that's now being made by some of Gannett's other TV stations.

"Spurs station changes"? WTSP-TV changed its on-air handle from "Tampa Bay's 10" to "10 Connects" several months ago. (Web address too.)
ReplyDeleteAh, the dreaded curse of the Information Center ...
Sorry to see Sam go; he's a great guy who is passionate about his work and very well liked. Retiring? That's very difficult to believe.
ReplyDeleteYeah it’s kind of ironic that they are trying to get older workers out of there but then they put someone who is almost 20 years old then Sam and was board at his own station in the top job there. I feel bad for Sam because Lougee was intimidated by someone who could do his job 500% better so Lougee gets rid of his competition. Gannett is a sinking ship with shitty benefits and crooks at the helm - jump while you can.
