Obama/McCain: Final Gannett endorsement count
With polls now open, and nearly half of Gannett's 85 U.S. dailies accounted for, Sen. Barack Obama has won 29 GCI newspaper endorsements on our list. Sen. John McCain got eight. And five papers opted for no endorsement.

Apparently, more than a few editors didn’t get the memo that an Obama win will threaten Gannett’s strategic plan to off-shore more jobs. And, if there was ever a company to watch for abusing its ability to send jobs overseas to save a few bucks, it’d be Gannett.
