"In the age of transparency,
the layoff will be blogged."
-- The New York Times, in a new story today about Gannett Blog and other sites reporting news that companies once kept secret.
An independent journal about the Gannett Co. and the news industry's digital transition
Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

Jim has really developed a following on the Web for this blog. Congratulations for that. Tara also a little misleading to the Times when she says most GCI employees get their information from the intranet. Not so. You posted info. on layoffs a month ago that beat the intranet by almost a day. And this is a news company. I wonder if corporate keeps a close leash on Tara, or if it is really Tara responsible for this.
