Dear readers: I really appreciate the kind notes you send. Many days, however, they should go to my very own Sparky. He's sacrificed much vacation fun, while I spend time blogging in hotel rooms.

And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

Jim,
ReplyDeleteYou either love Gannett so so so much or you must hate the company beyond imagination. No one would sacrifice a beautiful European vacation with their lover to "blog" about a former employer.
Most of us here who go on holiday would not even consider thinking about Gannett whilst away.
Keep up the great work. For many of us still at Gannett, this blog is a lifeline to sanity. A healthy place to vent and to get info not shared from within the company.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, this blog is my daily crack. I read it to decompress from the newsroom crap I deal with all day. Now, ain't THAT insane?!? Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteI neither hate nor love Gannett. I blog because I care about my former co-workers -- and all the other company employees who need a place to share information so they can better prepare for the future.
ReplyDeletePopcorn parties---this blog? What's the difference?
ReplyDeleteSeems like they're both potential outlets available in these times of economic and industry uncertainty.
I applaud Jim for all the hours he puts in here.
I also applaud the managers who supply the corn and treats, even though that kind of forced fun never did a thing for me like it obviously does for some people. The job itself (interviewing, researching and writing stories) was challenging and fun enough for me.
Jim, you can add me to the many who are grateful for this unique source of information, and venue for information sharing. This is exactly what the new-media age is all about, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteAlso: I herewith send a virtual martini to Sparky for backing you up.
Corporate has got to hate this blog because there are no more secrets. They won't get away with anything anymore! Thanks, Jim.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Thanks, Jim.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is my daily popcorn party!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sparky, for being so understanding.
Now, back to the fun!
Yes I agree with all of the above. This blog is not only informative, but downright entertaining most times. Please continue the great work and thank Sparky for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, all!
