  1. Jim: What does this mean?

GCI holdings reduced by Shell Asset Management Co ...
Also, Oshaughnessy Asset Management LLC has bought a huge chunk of GCI shares ... other companies are also buying and selling large chunks of Gannett stock...
could a sale be imminent? Are these companies getting their ducks lined up??

  2. I think you're over-reacting. These are not big moves. Shell Asset Mgmt. sold less than two-tenths of a percent of their shares, if I'm reading the report right.

Almost 40 percent of owner funds are buying more, about 14 percent holding steady. The almost 47 percent who are selling is surprisingly small, I'd say, given what a thumping the stock has taken. You'd think program triggers alone would have spurred more sales.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
