Cutlines Only: USA Today

Ren Yongqing, 83, is one of the last surviving shamans of the Qiang ethnic group in China, decimated two months ago by a massive earthquake. More than 30,000 Qiang died in the quake -- almost half of the 69,000 people killed, USA Today says this morning. The Qiang, known in China as the "people in the clouds," lost about 10% of their population. Photo by Calum MacLeod via Newseum.
