The two things worse than Gannett's strategic plan

I discovered both of them this morning, the second day of my summer-long stay on the Spanish island of Ibiza:
  • Negotiating with a telecommunications company when you don't speak Spanish; aren't a legal resident -- and don't know how many megabytes of data you require daily.
  • Being a stereotypical American who doesn't think he can live without the high-speed access I'm accustomed to at home in San Francisco, one of the most-wired places on the planet.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
