Oooh, shiny: One month later, I'm sold on Mac
After years and years of working on Windows-based computers, I switched to an Apple about a month ago -- my first laptop after giving up my second-rate Gannett equipment when I took a buyout in January. So far, I sure do love my MacBook Pro. It's just so gosh-darn fast and easy to use!

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

So Jim, your whoring yourself now for Apple> Let me guess, your going to be the new PR. for Steve.
ReplyDeleteThem things do indeed "just work," don't they? (We have three in our house... said goodbye to Windows 5 years ago.)
ReplyDeleteQuit shilling for Mac.
ReplyDeleteThey work great until things go to hell, then EVERYTHING goes to hell. Sunday, my hard drive crashed; then the firewire port crapped out eight hours later when I ran theb back-up drive. Then, desperately trying to burn what was left to a DVD, the optics fried and the entire logic board went to shit.
Basically, my entire MacBook Pro burned out in one long, 24 hour course of events.
I could have bought three cheap Gateways for the goddamned thing cost me - and the last Gateway may have been slower than the Apple but at least it lasted me six years.
