Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

The Advertiser photo editor must be chortling up his sleeve today.... an obvious phallic symbol. Good grief!
ReplyDeleteHey Jim,
ReplyDeleteAs a photojournalist, I'm often puzzled by your selections for "Cutlines Only" posts.
Most times I'm left bewildered, unsure which of these qualities you're tagging to the showcased photo: great photo/illustration, funny photo/illustration, newsworthy photo/illustration. Granted there have been some exceptions, but I usually can't tell because the selection isn't a standout in and there's hardly any explanation given as to why you chose to showcase it.
"Cutlines Only" is one of the rare genre of your posts that are very minimal on editorial, explanation, or elaboration.
Offering your thoughts beyond a mere caption and byline would be helpful and more engaging to your readership of visuals folks.
