"McClatchy is decidedly not going bankrupt.''
-- CEO Gary Pruitt, in a message to employees today, via Editor & Publisher. (Pruitt delivered the message in a video; when's the last time Gannett's top management spoke to employees in a video?)
An independent journal about the Gannett Co. and the news industry's digital transition
Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

Zero, nada, non. Video is not his bag anyway...even for a TV guy.
ReplyDeleteDubow did a video introduction of Jack Williams and the DIG, when it opened up.
ReplyDeleteAnd there was one where Dubow introduced Roger Ogden, the broadcast division chief, as the new head of the DIG. Ogden retired about a year later.
ReplyDeleteWhatever happened to the DIG??? Is that where Open Air originated from?
ReplyDeleteWhat's Open Air?
ReplyDeleteThe DIG is now run by Michael ManASS. Who is just another Dubow puppy dog looking to get attention in a crowded space. He is now the head of innovation for Gannett and I think he reports to Tara Connell. Not sure what they are trying to accomplish, but having spent sometime listening to him speak, I would bet that there will be minimal innovation coming out of Gannett, especially if you have the least innovative person running the DIG!
ReplyDeleteI know Roger O for many years and I think Ogden was smart to get the hell out of this place before the walls started crumbling. He saw the writing on the walls!
There has been nothing produced by the DIG that the world outside of Gannett would consider to be an innovation.
ReplyDeleteUh, anon 6:41am, Why was Roger not given a retirement party? Hmm, was leaving was really his choice....? I doubt it.
ReplyDeletehey anon: 8:32AM - what about NIMBUS? Everyone knows how great it is! :-)
ReplyDeleteFrom anon at 8:32 to anon at 8:42 a.m.: That Nimbus thing sucks! I $#@%ing hate it! I signed up for the Firefox add-on AdBlock Plus solely to keep it from popping up. Everyone else in the Gannett newsroom where I work did the same thing.
ReplyDeleteNimbus is the brain child of Kerry Oslund and Michale ManASS. Two incompetent Corporate blood suckers!
ReplyDeleteIf that is the most innovative thing that Gannett has produced, then we not only have a problem at the top, but we have a lot of stupid, uncreative people working in this company.
We should all get fired! We suck, you suck, Martore sucks and so does Dubow.
This comapny sucks and Nimbus sucks too!
