It's April 20, which translates to 4/20, and then 4:20 -- street code for marijuana, says the Chicago Tribune, which helpfully offers 10 things you didn't know about pot. The slang expression was likely created in the 1970s north of San Francisco at Marin County's San Rafael High School, where students supposedly lit up at 4:20 p.m.
