The space-centric paper introduced the new Pluck software-driven template this week -- the same one being rolled out companywide. In a smart move, the paper published a video guide to the changes, in this area of the site. (I can't link directly to any of the individual videos -- my major beef with the video platform now being used by Gannett. I'm hoping that changes under the new vendor GCI announced in November.)Predictably, though, Florida Today readers are reacting negatively to the new design, based on these comments so far; like journalists, readers don't cotton to change.
A question for webmasters: How flexible is the new template? If you have an idea for a really cool new feature, can the software be tweaked? Use this link to e-mail your reply; see Tipsters Anonymous Policy in the sidebar, upper right. Or leave a note in the comments section, below.
