Update at 6:28 p.m. ET: My profile and discussion thread appear to be there when I checked just now. Can anyone at Cherry Hill explain whether it's visible to the public?
Update at 10:48 a.m. ET: I spoke too soon, a Gannett Blog reader points out. It appears my profile remains under review. Hello, Publisher Walt Lafferty! Just how long do these "reviews" take?
Update at 6:14 a.m. ET: My profile is back up again. Perhaps the paper's top executives aren't total doofuses after all!
Last night, I created a discussion thread on the paper's site, describing the fact that Gannett is now looking into Courier-Post employee allegations about unpaid overtime. A Gannett Blog reader e-mailed me today, pointing out that my profile at the paper now says: "This community member's page is currently being reviewed by the editors.''
Hah! Unfortunately for beleagured Publisher Walt Lafferty and Executive Editor Everett Mitchell, you can't shut down my posts here!

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

The leadership at the Courier-Post is terrible; I'm so thankful I got out. Certain C-P bosses had me crying more than once.
ReplyDeleteFriends, there is a light at the end of the tunnel - outside Gannett.
In case someone hasn't mentioned this yet ... I see that Cherry Hill has switched to the new Pluck software.
ReplyDeleteOne of the "nifty" new features is that you can set it so a user can see his/her posts, but the rest of the people on the forum can't.
So that probably explains why you can see it but others can't.
Oh, yeah? Where is this light? Nowhere in this industry, I'll bet ...
