Good luck doing that at the Arizona Republic, which published a cream puff yesterday about retiring Newspaper Division President Sue Clark-Johnson -- a story I call the Second Coming of Sue.
I know the Republic allows comments on some stories, such as this one about the Pentagon-Iran boat flap. With it, there's an advisory called Post a Comment that says: "This is a public comment zone. Readers are solely responsible for the content of their posts and must comply with our Terms of Service and Rules of Engagement. Report offensive content by clicking on the 'Report abuse' link."
OK! Turn that commenting sucker on for the Clark-Johnson story, and Gannett Blog readers can join Arizona civic leaders who "enthusiastically" greeted the news she's leaving the company. Hmmm. Kind of strange wording. Is that really what you editors meant it to say?
Got an offensive or just-plain-crazy comment that made it past your Gannett site's filters? Use this link to e-mail Commentz Korner suggestions. See Tipsters Anonymous Policy in the sidebar, upper right. Or leave a note in the moderated comments section, below.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
