An independent journal about the Gannett Co. and the news industry's digital transition
Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."

Some people just don't get it, do they? Then again, if one buries his/her head in the sand for too long they are likely to find themselves with one of those less than coveted Gannett pink slips.
ReplyDeleteDave's not a Gannett employee. He's at the tip of the spear when it comes to pioneering newspaper content - specifically opinion content - on the Web. He has more knowledge and experience about blogging than 95 percent of the rest of the industry. I'm not a friend or coworker of his, but I have met him and am familiar with his work. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss his thoughts on these matters.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the backup TJ. You have to drop me a note and let me know who you are.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I long ago worked for Gannett, I think I quit my job at USA Today's editorial page in 2002. BNN doesn't currently have any business relationship with Gannett, though we do work with a number of its competitors.
Whatever happens in '08, I hope Gannett can help to better monetize my paycheck, that's for sure. Fourth year in a row that I've received my hard-earned 2.5% increase only to lose money each week due to increased health care contributions.
