Gannett stock is soaring higher today
Shares are up more than 6% as I write this post, well above the 0.6% increase in the broader S&P-500 Index.

Jim, do you owned any Gannett stock?
ReplyDeleteFewer than 100 shares. I sold virtually all my GCI in early 2004.
ReplyDeleteWish I had sold mine.
ReplyDeleteWhat is driving the increase? Was it the press release about the new digital hire and the company having two key digital positions?
ReplyDeleteGood question. I don't know. Newspaper stocks overall were up today. That usually means some Wall Street analyst issued an upgrade on company XYZ Inc., and that lifted the entire sector.
ReplyDeletei hear the digital exec is close to the venture and banking people, so the rise yesterday was an endorsement of his joining gannett.
