Cutlines Only: The Courier-Journal

Lauren Runner, severely burned over 50% of her body in an October car wreck in Bullitt County, Ky., holds her 3-year-old daughter, Gwenith. Now in a Louisville rehabilitation hospital, she says God kept her alive so her daughter would have a mom. "She's my world,'' Runner told The Courier-Journal today. "She's the best thing that ever happened to me. I can't miss Christmas. I have to be home with her." Photo by Kylene Lloyd, Courier-Journal.
