Hot Off the Press: The Tennessean

This is today's Tennessean, once a major star in the constellation of Gannett papers; click on the image for a bigger view. I don't hear as much from Nashville since Mark Silverman replaced legendary top editor Frank Sutherland. Update: Everitt Mitchell served a short stint between Silverman and Sutherland. Mitchell's now executive editor of The Courier-Post in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Silverman had served a brief stint as head of Gannett News Service after leaving the Detroit News when that paper was sold in 2005 to Gannett partner MediaNews Group. And, of course, Silverman was a prime architect of News 2000, the now-defunct quality control program. For Silverman, Nashville is a much smaller gig compared to Detroit, of course.

Nashville employees: How is life under Silverman? Please E-mail Gannett Blog -- or leave a note in the comments section, below.

Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
