Way better late than never, The Daily Times in Salisbury, Md., today confirmed earlier reports that Thomas Claybaugh, 53, has been named general manager/regional vice president over the paper and its associated media properties.
Claybaugh had been head of advertising sales at New York's Rochester Democrat and Chronicle since 2006.

One of Gannett's best executives. Congratulations, Tom. TDT is lucky to have you steer that operation.
ReplyDeleteWhen he worked at Poughkeepsie way back when, he was professional and had a good sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteTom's a great guy: smart, motivated, fair. Salisbuy's lucky to have him.
ReplyDeleteWorked with Tom in Ohio. Seasoned, fair, sharp and committed. Rochester's loss.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see some positive comments on The Blog, where strings can sometimes fade into negativity and demise.
ReplyDeleteGannett still has some terrific employees who are committed to the success of the organization. Tom has always stood up for his staff, customers in his market and the other Gannett stakeholders (people like me who own shares in the company).
I am glad to see that he has taken this opportunity, as he has in the past, to travel to a market where the company needs his skill set.
I echo 2:09's comments. there are still decent, hard working, respected people in this company who treat peers and underlings well. Glad to hear about Tom and wish we had more like him.
ReplyDeleteTom is a great guy with experience enough to really make a difference.
ReplyDeleteHigh on intergrity and low on the bullshit.
