Martore says they saved money, then goes on to say single copy weekday circulation numbers hadn't dropped as much as they had expected. Sunday only Single Copy was down less than the 30 to 40 percent drop in circulation they had expected. They actually think a drop of thirty to forty percent was acceptable? At Palm Spring they should bring back the single copy service that the community had grown fond of. Now instead of papers going out directly from the press site they are taken to another location where they are picked up by contractors that work for a distributor. This takes more time and money.
Jim says: "Proceed with caution; this is a free-for-all comment zone. I try to correct or clarify incorrect information. But I can't catch everything. Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
